Was it our frowns?
(The marshmallows have written the below post; I cannot be held liable for any statements they make)
We our saddened by our recent loss in the Softies Awards. Was it because we are perpetually unhappy? I mean, I guess we would have been sad even if we had won, but our maker would be a little happier. She wouldn’t be listening to various songs that depict Monday as a horrid day, like the Mamas and the Papas’ “Monday, Monday” or the Carpenters’ “Rainy Days and Mondays.” She wouldn’t be tossing away her acceptance email that poignantly quoted the 1983 classic, A Christmas Story: “It’s a major award! I won it.”
We admired the Food winner even before it was nominated, but a burger isn’t very vegetarian-friendly! And we are! Oh wait, we’re made of gelatin. Um…we make kids so much happier than burgers! Wait, we probably give them cavities. I bet it was a hamBURGLAR, of votes that is! Stupid borrowed pun, anyone?. Well, we’re still the best crochet frowny marshmallows out there! …shoot, our maker alerted us of a new softie she just made:
Hmm, that’s pretty sad and cute as well. A frowny s’more. We didn’t see it coming! Guess we’ll go look for the nearest campfire and drown our sorrows in its flames.

I thought the frowns were one of the cutest parts of ‘em! I like the s’more too - perhaps next year’s entry?! Thanks for entering the SA, great marshmallows!

Haha, thanks Therese! I loved being part of it, and was so inspired by all the participants. And flattered that I got nominated after having learned how to crochet only 3 months ago!

*laughs*
I thought that the marshmallow was hiding in a hamburger when I first saw it, in a “we can be burgers too!” sort of way.
Very cute.

Oh that’s good! And one of the orig. marshmallows should have mocked the s’more by calling him a hamburger wannabe!

Oh, frowny marshmallows, I voted for you! As did many! And THINK of the fact that you made it as finalists, out of the kazillions of entries! You have so very much to be proud of, I’m afraid it would make you roast if you really stopped to think about it….

Oh, my dear gelatinous friends, I feel your pain. My teacup did not ace out the other pincushions *sob*.
I did vote for you, and was sooooo happy to be in your company (that of finalists) if even for such a brief time.
Perhaps a celebrity roast awaits you in coming days????
(sorry, puns are a genetic thing in my family)

I was sad you did not win too. You fluffy little guys are the best!

If it makes you feel any better, I did not win either. That darn cute kitty bank kicked the Leia Wig in the buns.
